Modern Dance

Instructional sessions include five hours a day of technique class that develops the body as an expressive instrument through flexibility and mobility, and works toward freedom of expression in space. In preparation for a presentation, students learn composition, improvisation, and rehearse repertoire. Students also rehearse and perform in a final project. Twenty students are accepted.

Dancers with the required prerequisite experience are strongly encouraged to apply for both modern dance and ballet in order to increase their chances of acceptance to OSAI. Please click here for more information about Ballet.
